Identification: Dissolve 1.0g in 30ml of methanol. Add 1.0g of hydroxylamine hydrochloride and 1.0g of andydrous sodium acetate. Boil under a reflux condenser for 15 mins. Allow to cool, and add 100ml of distilled water. Aprecipitate is formed. Filter, wash with disstilled water and recrystallize form 10ml of a mixture of 4 volumes of alcohol and 6 volumes of distilled water. The crystals, dried in cacuo, melt at 118°C to 121°C
